I say the words "I love you" to a lot of people: family-members, brothers and sisters-in-Christ, even people whom I haven't seen for many years and may not see again before I die. Definitions are important to me. Recently, I started to ask myself, "What do I mean when I say I love you?" Certainly it means different things to different people and in different contexts, but if I use the same words each time, there should be some consistency in the core meaning.
