Dreaming Myself Awake

It's happened to all of us at one time or another. I woke up seriously late for work.

I Love You -- What Does It Mean?

I say the words "I love you" to a lot of people: family-members, brothers and sisters-in-Christ, even people whom I haven't seen for many years and may not see again before I die. Definitions are important to me. Recently, I started to ask myself, "What do I mean when I say I love you?" Certainly it means different things to different people and in different contexts, but if I use the same words each time, there should be some consistency in the core meaning.

Emails from work

Sometime in late October, a woman received an email inviting her to attend a presentation entitled "Inside Creationism's Trojan Horse." She forwarded the email to several of her colleagues, adding "FYI". One of them took offense, and as a result, this lady is now looking for a job. Her "resignation" was announced on November 29; on November 30 the story hit [The Associated Press]@(http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/30/us/30resign.html?ref=us).

Cluelessness

God, I'm so clueless, sometimes.

Boot Camp

I didn't enjoy boot camp very much. There was a whole lot of waiting around interspersed with brief periods of wholly unnecessary activity. Eventually I learned how to sneak out to the mini-mart and buy cheap paperback novels to relieve the boredom. Of course the Company Commander would confiscate them because they weren't on the approved reading list.

Remembering My Dad

Dad and I had good times together. We didn't waste the time we spent together. And for that reason, I don't have regrets now that he's gone.
