Defeating the Bad Spiritual habits that drag us away from God.
Isa 58:1 ¶ Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
Isa 58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
Isa 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and thou seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as [ye do this] day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? [is it] to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes [under him]? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 ¶ [Is] not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 [Is it] not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I [am]. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Isa 58:10 And [if] thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness [be] as the noonday:
“I trust I do not deceive myself when I indulge the persuasion that I have never met you at any period when more than at the present the situation of our public affairs has afforded just cause for mutual congratulation, and for inviting you to join with me in profound gratitude to the Author of all Good for the numerous and extraordinary blessings we enjoy.” George Washington. President of the USA. Seventh Annual Message of George Washington. United States; December 8, 1795. http://avalon.law.yale.edu/18th_century/washs07.asp
The above quote was spoken by George Washington in a time when the Nation was had prevailed over tyranny. The Above verses remind us we must stay o task to maintain our freedoms. Today We are confidently prevailing against tyranny as we have created an atmosphere wherein two nations Iraq And Afghanistan are having free elections. We have paid for it in blood and in money and some natural resources are heavy use to create the weaponry. But two more free elections than two years ago are something for all Americans to be Boasting I Christ. We are fighting hard to avoid bloodshed and death rates are lower that they were I most other wars. So now is the time to face iward and outward pressures boldly so them who have died will not have died in vain:
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 9:7 Of the increase of [his] government and peace [there shall be] no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Exd 20:7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Deu 5:11 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold [him] guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
“God does not want us to shy away from the tough subjects when we choose to live our life for him, and just pretend that there are things we can handle on our own. Pornography is a habit, and it is becoming an addiction for hundreds of thousands of Americans every year. So what does God think of this habit? It pushes us away from Him. It is a habit that damages our relationship with God. Because of that, it needs to be talked about in the pulpit.
Instead of thinking that we are all alone, remember that God is with us all the time. We can never “close the door” on what God sees in our lives, so we have to act as if he is in the room with us even when there isn’t anyone else around. If we find an impulse to do or look at something we shouldn’t we have to get in the habit of checking our motives.
Pastor Paine offered this story that he heard at a Promise Keeper’s conference several years ago. A minister was speaking about the struggles of life on the road for ministry. His calling took him away from his family for weeks at a time, and he made a habit to ensure that he never found himself slipping in his dedication to his wife and children while he was on the road. Every time the minister arrived in a new hotel room, the very first thing he would do was take out a picture of his family and put it right on top of the TV to remind him that he wasn’t alone. He had a wife and children that were at home counting on him. Pastor Paine said that this is a good habit he borrowed after hearing the story to help keep him from temptation while traveling. Little habits like this one are the best way to make sure that temptation is stopped at the very start. It’s not about big actions that make it impossible for you to fall, instead, it is a series of small spiritual habits that we can make that strengthen us to do what God is calling each of us to do.” Pastor Paine. http://www.mychristianfellowship.org/sep_27_09_godly_habits.php
In this small excerpt from a service called: Godly Habits. Spoken Sunday, Sep 27, 2009: By Pastor Peter F. Paine. We see a tantamount problem that America is going to need to take on (And use Jesus name to defeat it). Whether The USA takes it head on with more laws, or simply recognizes it and makes a hard fast change in its culture doesn't matter. However laws do not need to be made on the subject if the source of our counter attack starts on the pulpit and in the teaching of the children.
“Placed in a situation every way so auspicious, motives of commanding force impel us, with sincere acknowledgment to Heaven and pure love to our country, to unite our efforts to preserve, prolong, and improve our immense advantages. To cooperate with you in this desirable work is a fervent and favorite wish of my heart.” Seventh Annual Message of George Washington. Psa 27:2 When the wicked, [even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
Jhn 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
Jhn 6:39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
Jhn 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:41 ¶ The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
Jhn 6:42 And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
Jhn 6:43 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
Jhn 6:46 Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
Jhn 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
Jhn 6:48 I am that bread of life.
Jhn 6:49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
Jhn 6:50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
Jhn 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Jhn 6:52 The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?
Jhn 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Jhn 6:54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
Jhn 6:56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
Jhn 6:57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
Jhn 6:58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
When this concept of Jesus body it is easy to see how God speaks through Paul in the following writing:
1Ti 5:24 Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some [men] they follow after.
1Ti 5:25 Likewise also the good works [of some] are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid.
“Also, the most outspoken man often is an individual who has no Definite Major Purpose of his own. Therefore he devotes much of his time endeavoring to belittle the man who has such a purpose.” Napoleon Hill. Analysis of the Mastermind. Occupation. The Master-Key to Riches.
2Ti 4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
In direct result to this evidence it is easy to see how: Being bold in honest use of Jesus name in a positive light will “win-out.” It will put at naught the devices that would lead to convincing God into fighting against his own people. And that God will defend those who defend his Prescribed culture; A culture that is described intensely by the Ministry of God and those who founded the nation. Their writings are at war to keep a small Government in times of peace. And to Minimize the need for government by voluntary co-operation of: the people, Business owners and the Ministry of God in general.
