Who Art Thou?

John 1:19-27
  1. And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who art thou?
  2. And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.
  3. And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.
  4. Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?
  5. He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.
  6. And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.
  7. And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?
  8. John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;
  9. He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

"Israel was forty years in the wilderness. Maybe for you and me it is a different amount of years. But if you could go back in your life, all the ways that God took you through, maybe he is trying to teach you lessons that you have not learned...

Each Time God gave a command. The people reacted. God was Glorified. When they disobeyed their Lineage was wiped out. When The people obeyed they Prospered. The Best short examples:

Message: Wherein Have We Robbed God?

Pastor Ulysse

This morning we are going to talk about praise and worship.

Malachi 3:8
  1. Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

God's people at the time of Malachi were lukewarm, and it was manifest in many ways: spiritually, socially, and materially.

Message: These Things Doth The Lord Hate:

A Heart That Deviseth Wicked Imaginations

Pastor Ulysse

The text for the message this morning comes from Proverbs. Let's stand and read those verses together:

Proverbs 6:16-19
  1. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
  2. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
  4. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

We talked about God not liking something.

Message: These Things Doth The Lord Hate:

Hands That Shed Innocent Blood

Pastor Ulysse

We continue to talk about what the Lord hates. If God hates something, it is something we all should hate.

A Lying Tongue

Proverbs 6:16-19
  1. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
  2. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
  4. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

It is good when you have a message and a crowd, and the message is for the crowd. You know the message will go out to the crowd. But today we have no liars in the congregation, so it is harder. But maybe you are here because you know some people who are liars. Whatever reason you are here, I ask that you take the message, because you will need it.

Ethics S Beams and Motes in the eyes

Well, this church is a Biblical church. They do everything according to the Bible, and they're proud of it. Maybe sometimes they are a little too proud of it, like they're better than everyone else....No one But Jesus ever said:...

These Things Doth The Lord Hate: A Proud Look

Proverbs 6:16-19
  1. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
  2. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
  3. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
  4. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Most people in the church don't suffer from too much negative pride, but from too little positive pride and too much negative humility, from too little self-esteem and too much self-condemnation.
