Friday was weird. At the end of the day, at Victory Nissan (I try to sell cars), this old black guy came up. He was very rude in speech, a mean-spirited person. He was joking at us, being smart, being mean. A fellow salesperson just dogged him out. I said, "Sir, if you're looking for somebody, you can go inside." He said, "You! Come here!" He pointed at one of the license plates and said, "See! That's why you're a follower, not a leader. You did what I said to do. You're destined to be a follower. And you're probably one of those church-people. Church people are soft; they have no backbone."
The next day, I met a bunch of people who were dressed in bright colors, and asked them why they were dressed that way. They told me they had just gotten back from a walk-a-thon for their church. I gave them a card and said, "Let me know the next time you have a walk-a-thon; I'd be interested in participating." He said, "I like the way you take charge. You're a real leader."
Today, in service, talking about Peter and the other disciples in the boat. I think everyone in the boat knew that a man can't walk on water. But Peter saw something deeper; he had so much confidence in Jesus that he forgot all he ever learned about not being able to walk on water. He was a true leader.
